For candidates
Profile - Microwave and Antenna Engineering
Microwave and aerial engineering prepares future engineers to design and operate modern radio-frequency systems and devices and wireless embedded systems. The chassis provides access to the latest generation of measurement equipment (spectrum analyzers / oscilloscopes operating in the GHz range, anechoic chamber for antenna testing) and CAD software (ADS, FEKO, HFSS, Altium Designer).
Subjects taught in the profile:
- Design of wireless devices
- Antennas in wireless communication
- Wireless communication systems
- Programming microcontrollers
Specialty - Wireless Communication Engineering
Wireless Communication Engineering - educates professionals prepared for the design of both modern systems and devices used in today's radio-frequency systems and wireless embedded systems. Graduates are able to efficiently handle modern CAD and CAM environments for components, systems and systems, as well as software for microcontrollers, mobile devices and complete embedded systems.
A specialty in the Department of Microelectronics and Radio Engineering, called "Wireless Communication Engineering" was introduced in the academic year 2006/2007 and is available for telecommunication and electronics.
Courses taught within the specialty:
- Integrated passive circuits in wireless communication
- Integrated circuits active in wireless communication
- Electromagnetic compatibility of integrated devices
- Intelligent spaces
- Automation of high frequency measurement
- Integrated circuits in wireless communication
- CAD in the design of high frequency systems and systems
- Applications of wireless technology
- Mobile technologies
- Monographic lecture - wireless technologies
The IKB specialization program has been set up so that the curricular differences for students from the Telecommunications sub-branch are small. If you are in the specialty of every student (EiT) we offer free Wireless Microwave Engineering training provided by the WiComm Center of Excellence, which completely compensates for any differences in the program..
The students will be able to access the following topics: WiFi, WiMax, Bluetooth, ZigBee, UWB, RFID, wireless sensors, 3G / 4G mobile telephony, anti-collision radars, GPS, Galileo.
A graduate of a new specialty
The profile of graduate education in specialty corresponds to the rapidly growing demand for knowledge and skills in the design, construction, measurement and operation of modern wireless and cable communication systems using BW signals. such as wireless networks (WiFi, WiMax), 3G / 4G mobile telephony, wireless broadband (Bluetooth, UWB), radar and navigation systems (GPS, Galileo, automotive radars) , wireless sensors (ZigBee, iMote), RFID radio tags, digital radio (SDR). Students gain the necessary knowledge in:
- computer-aided design (CAD) systems and devices b.w.cz. in various technologies (PCB, multilayer LTCC, integrated) - generation, amplification, filtering, modulation, frequency conversion, detection, antenna and
- antenna systems as well as photonics,
electromagnetic compatibility (radiation and noise elimination), propagation of electromagnetic waves in complex environments (eg buildings and urban environment) of measurement (including computer-aided CAM) of systems, devices and systems.
Particular emphasis is placed on developing the skills of using the most up-to-date CAD and CAM engineering tools for systems and devices. The Department has specialized software and measurement equipment, in the laboratories of measurement, b., Photonics, antenna technology, CAD systems and microwave antennas. Based on the staff, knowledge and resources of the IMiA Chair, the Center for Excellence in Wireless Communication Systems Engineering - WiComm
Graduates of the specialization have the qualifications of the sought-after specialist called in the world as RF Engineer. They are employed in Poland and abroad in enterprises and institutions with the following profiles of activity: design and manufacture of devices, circuits and antennas b.w.cz. (including their installation, operation and research in laboratories of scientific and industrial institutes) and planning, design and consulting for wireless, cable and fiber communication systems such as mobile telephony, cable television, computer networks, consumer electronics.
The companies are constantly cooperating with companies affiliated in the Pomeranian ICT INTERIZON cluster, which is a network of cooperation in the field of wireless communication. The activities carried out by the WiComm Center of Excellence under this cooperation increase the demand of companies for both new projects and new employees.
