Seminarium dyplomowe magisterskie (Master's degree seminar)

The objectives of the seminar are as follows:

  • Formal control of master's degree projects:
    • Does each graduate have a defined topic and thesis supervisor?
    • Has cooperation been established between the supervisor and the diploma student?
    • Is there a vision for completing the work within the constraints of time and work resources?
    • Monitoring the progress of work and its completion plan,
  • Content control of the diploma thesis:
    • Are there any obvious errors in the assumptions and implementation method?
    • risk analysis regarding timely completion of work and development of appropriate risk countermeasure plans.
  • Methodological support for diploma projects 
    • discussion of formal conditions regarding diploma projects,
    • discussion of editorial issues related to diploma theses,
    • discussion of the organization and course of the thesis defense and diploma examination.
  • Mutual communication:
    • informing each other about ongoing diploma projects,
    • informing each other about the results obtained in projects and/or the areas to which these projects relate.

Method of conducting the seminar

The Master's degree seminar includes:

  • The first round of the seminar, during which the level of preparation and advancement of diploma projects is presented and assessed, as well as the risk analysis related to these projects.
  • Preparatory workshops on the structure and content of a diploma thesis, criteria for assessing the content of diploma theses and the course of the diploma examination.
  • The second round of the seminar, which presents substantive issues related to the problems addressed in the diploma theses and the domain context related to these works, as well as the substantive results achieved in these works.
