Department of Sonar Systems leads a  Master’s specialization and Engineering profile called Real-time embedded systems for the students of Electronics and Telecommunications.  In cooperation with Department of Metrology and Optoelectronics, Department of Computer Architecture and Intel Technology Poland, DMES  runs a graduate complementary stream Embedded Systems, available for students of postgraduate studies at the Faculty of ETI.

The programs of DSON courses respond to the growing demand for designers and developers of embedded systems, among others in many new companies operating in the maritime industry, and takes into account the skills sought after by technology companies of small and large scale, i. a.:

  • design and implementation of marine and navigation systems
  • design and development of embedded systems

DSON students gain the knowledge and engineering skills in the following areas:

  • architecture and design of real-time computer systems
  • digital signal processing and data transmission

with special emphasis on their application in real-world hydroacoustic, radiolocation, navigation and ultrasonic systems. Students gain the experience in operating these systems in the Hydroacoustic Research Station at the lake Wdzydze.

Graduate Stream Embedded Systems

The graduate complementary stream Embedded Systems is available for students of postgraduate studies at the Faculty of ETI. The program of Embedded Systems is developed by a team of DSON + DMO + DCA, in cooperation with Intel Technology Poland.

The objective of this course is to expose students (as part of their curriculum) with:

  • design methodology of embedded systems architecture.
  • hardware-dependent software engineering,
  • efficient firmware and OS design methodology,
  • design, construction and testing methodology of embedded system, comprising a set of runtime controlled configured operating system and providing support for attached systems and components.
