The Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics (ETI) is the largest of the University’s faculties, currently comprising of 16 departments employing nearly 200 academic teachers and researchers, including three Corresponding Members of Polish Academy of Sciences and two IEEE Fellows
Cooperation
The Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics has filed 78 submissions for inventive designs in the Centre for Knowledge and Technology Transfer (CKTT) and through the Patent Attorney office at Gdansk University of Technology from 2012 until 2016. Within innovation related activities the Faculty has filed 55 submissions of innovative solutions. Within the same period the Faculty has signed 30 agreements with external entities.
Department of Functional Materials Engineering
Department of Functional Materials Engineering was established on the 1st of September 2023 from the Laboratory of Functional Materials, which was a faculty unit of the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunication and Informatics appointed by the Rector of Gdańsk University of Technology on 21/02/2018 to carry out research
Immersive 3D Visualization Lab
The Immersive 3D Visualization Lab includes the following devices:
- cubic virtual reality CAVE (i.e. a room whose walls are stereoscopic projection screens),
- transparent spherical walk simulator that can be inserted into the CAVE (i.e. a rotating sphere that allows a person to walk in place, like a hamster on a wheel).

Department of Computer Communications
The Department conducts research and teaching in the broad area of computer networking and information systems. Our activities range from basic research and contribution to the foundations of computer communications to participation in engineering projects in cooperation with local institutions and IT industry.
