Department of Computer Communications
The Department conducts research and teaching in the broad area of computer networking and information systems. Our activities range from basic research and contribution to the foundations of computer communications to participation in engineering projects in cooperation with local institutions and IT industry.
Example research topics include:
Department of Multimedia Systems

The Multimedia Systems Department runs the research & education specialisation called Sound and Vision Engineering.
Department of Microelectronic Systems

The Department focuses its activities on the problems of synthesis, design and optimization of microelectronic circuits and systems, including micro-electro-mechanical systems (PsoC, CSoC, MEMS) with the emphasis on the following:
Department of Radio Communication Systems and Networks

Department of Geoinformatics

The Department of Geoinformatics is one of the youngest departments at the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics, as it was established in 2003 when it replaced the Department of Telemonitoring which came into existence in 2000.
Department of Sonar Systems
The main scientific specialization of Department of Sonar Systems is hydroacoustics, especially:
- hydroacoustic systems (navigation, communication, and echolocation)
- ultrasonic transducers and antenna hydroacoustic,
- propagation of acoustic waves in the sea and inland waters.
The research in theoretical acoustics, signal processing and analog and digital ultrasonic technique is also carried out.
Department of Decision Systems and Robotics

The Department of Robotics and Decision Systems was created in 2006 by professor Zdzislaw Kowalczuk and, for the most part, a group of academic staff of the Automatic Control Department.

Department of Teleinformation Networks
Our mission involves broadening the knowledge in the area of modern telecommunication. In this regard, the Department focuses on research and teaching activities that include theory and development of telecommunication networks, data transmission and encoding methods, signal processing for telecommunications, encryption, as well as development of physical layer solutions.
