Resources

Keeping up with the rapid development of microelectronic systems and active participation in this development requires constant monitoring for micro- and nanoelectronics progress and continuous improvement of hardware and software design tools.

Laboratories

Measuring equipment

We have modern measurement equipment allowing measurements of circuits, as well as analog and digital systems in the frequency range of up to 20GHz.

Protoboards, emulators and programmers

In labs there are many protoboards with FPGAs and processors (including DSP) available to students.

During the studies at the speciality, a mastery of hardware, computer-aided design (CAD) and programming tools is developed; i.e. learning of hardware description languages VHDL and Verilog, the ability to use the system CADENCE, and the programs Magic, Spice, Matlab, Windows CID, etc.

Selected CAD systems, used at the Department:

  • Cadence
  • Xilinx
  • Matlab

Examples of designed and manufactured integrated circuits

In the final stage of their studies, the students participate in research at the Department.  Moreover they participate in the research of the microelectronic systems designed by their predecessors.
